Six years in the making. The agony of deciding on a cover, on running order, on typography. What to put in. What to leave out. Over the past fortnight I’ve held a trembling cursor over the publishing button on more than one occasion, only to withdraw at the last moment.
Last night, I pushed the button. Readership, an announcement. My second anthology, Further Excuses, is now live on Amazon.
It includes work that has been workshopped through the lovely people at Reading Writers, with a couple also run through the boys at my other writing support group, The Story Board.
The cover is from my boy Dominic Wade, with a few tweaks by me (tip: look more closely at what the lady is walking, cos that ain’t no dog). Excellent work from the Wade. It pleases me no end.
If you do feel the urge to read it and like what youy’ve seen, then I’d love it if you posted a review on Amazon or Goodreads. It really does make a difference.
A print-on-demand version will be available in the next few days, for those of you who just have to have the physical object. I’ll be grabbing a few author copies, and will probably do a competition for a signed copy (winner gets one copy, loser gets two haha sob).
For now, I’m just basking in the moment of having something new out there. The marketing and noise-making can wait for a day or so.
