One thing’s for sure: this time, it’s personal.
It’s typical behavior in Hollywood to take an outstanding foreign language film and hack out a mediocre rehash for the American market. David Fincher’s take on the Steig Larssen novel does nothing to buck the trend. More worryingly, it takes one of the strongest female characters to come out in years and does everything it can to dilute her power.

The David Fincher remake of Neils Arden Oplev’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is looking worse by the minute. I know it’s an exercise in foolishness to judge a film on the strength of a couple of trailers and a poster. But Sony Pictures have sent out these images to garner a first reaction to the film. So here’s mine.
